Christopher K. Morgan & Artists
Returning for their second season as CityDance's Resident Company Christopher K. Morgan & Artists will present Spiraling, a dynamic concert featuring Morgan's "forward thinking choreography" (Ballet-Dance Magazine).
Opening the program will be C'est le ton qui fait la chanson, a playful work set to nostalgic 1930's French music. CityDance Conservatory will debut a new contemporary ballet work that Morgan was commissioned to create following last season's staging of Morgan's 2002 piece Ties That Bind on these exceptional pre-professional students. Then, in the first step in a growing partnership, Christopher K. Morgan & Artists will host acclaimed company The Dance Exchange, who will present a work by their Resident Artist Sarah Levitt. Finally, the company will premiere Morgan's 2012 work De-Generate. Originally commissioned by the American University Dance Company, the piece creates a magical atmosphere that reflects the barrage of ideas and images that flood our modern lives.
The performances will be followed by a discussion with the artists, providing audiences with a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of the work, ask questions and share their thoughts.
This concert will run approximately 80 minutes and will take place in the CityDance Studio Theater at Strathmore. Tickets are available at the door for each performance.
