Co-Presented with Blues Alley

The best of the legendary Smooth Jazz Cruise stars, together on stage at Strathmore! Baltimore-born-and-raised soul singer extraordinaire, Maysa has a passionate following here, and no wonder: her “ebony contralto is sensuously joyful” (Kickmag.com), “lithe, lovely and expressive…a constant delight” (The Washington Post). South African guitarist and singer Jonathan Butler exploded onto the American music scene in 1987, opening for Whitney Houston. Since then, this masterful musician has grooved new ground in R&B, jazz and soul with his “soaring vocals and masterful guitar style” (AllAboutJazz.com). Canadian saxophonist Warren Hill has topped the Smooth Jazz, Adult Contemporary and Top 40 charts with his smooth and soulful sound.

This concert will run approximately 85 minutes with no intermission.

PLEASE NOTE: Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday and continuing through system closing on Sunday, free shuttle buses will replace Red Line trains between the Grosvenor and Friendship Heights stations to allow for rail renewal/replacement, structural repairs, tunnel leak mitigation and related improvements. Both the Grosvenor and Friendship Heights stations will remain open for connections to Metrorail service.

Medical Center and Bethesda Metrorail stations will be closed.

Red Line trains will operate in two segments: between Shady Grove and Grosvenor, and between Friendship Heights and Glenmont. On each segment, trains will operate every 10 minutes between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., and at regular weekend intervals at other times.

Customers should allow 30 minutes of additional travel time.
