Hailed by critics on four continents, pianist Orli Shaham kicks off the National Philharmonic’s 2012-2013 season with Beethoven’s sublime Piano Concerto No. 3. The heroic Symphony No. 3 (“Eroica”)—originally dedicated to Napoleon—marked the arrival of Beethoven’s middle period, featuring powerful large-scale works.
A free pre-concert lecture will be offered in the Concert Hall at 6:45 pm on Oct.13; 1:45 pm on Oct. 14.
This concert will run approximately 125 minutes with intermission.
