Described by The Times (London) as “without doubt, one of the world’s greatest living musicians,” Yuri Bashmet is the pre-eminent viola player of the modern age, and the founder and director of the Grammy Award-winning Russian orchestra Moscow Soloists, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2012. For their Strathmore debut, they are joined by Latvian star cellist Mischa Maisky, who Mstislav Rostropovich praised for his “poetry and exquisite delicacy, great temperament and brilliant technique."

The program will have two 45 minute sets, plus a 20 minute intermission.
