Fresh from their regular gig at New York’s famed Birdland and appearances on NPR’s JazzSet, the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra led by Arturo O’Farrill, joined by soloist Paquito D’Rivera, recreate the sound of the fabled Duke Ellington big band in such classics as “Caravan” and “In a Sentimental Mood,” and perform new pieces inspired by Ellington, including Erika Von Kreist’s Ellington Overture and Michael Philip Mossman’s Ellington Afro-Latin Suite. Don’t miss this Grammy-winning band’s take on the Duke!

Please note: Metro plans track work February 17 at 10 pm through February 20 that will close the Grosvenor-Strathmore station on the Red Line. Shuttle busses will replace trains between Medical Center/NIH and White Flint. Please plan to add extra time to your commute if taking Metro.
