Coming one week after the appearance of his celebrated teacher, Leon Fleisher, star pupil André Watts returns to perform the Mount Everest of piano repertoire, Rachmaninoff’s dazzling Piano Concerto No. 2. Easily one of the most popular English symphonies of all time, Sir Edward Elgar’s First Symphony is a heady explosion of German romanticism meets British stiff upper lip.
This concert will run approximately 110 minutes with intermission.
