Friday Night Eclectic
Just like the hip party you would host—if you lived in a mansion with an art gallery, a cool band and a bartender.
Stripmall Ballads
A folk singer with a punk rock attitude, Phillips Saylor’s boot-stomping grooves, ghostly polytonal feedback solos, and slide bass compliment his virtuosic claw hammer banjo picking, intricate Piedmont Blues guitar lines, and aching, character-filled voice.

Stripmall Ballads presents The Perfect Pipe Bomb ~ A folk opera
This opening night show brings to life the archetypes of John Doe and Jane Doe in an engaging performance, showcasing Stripmall Ballads signature take on Americana music styles. Puppets, story telling, shadows, choral arrangements and theatrics will accompany Stripmall Ballads' psychedelic folk rock as Phillips and his band tell the story of John and Jane Doe--an ill-fated pair of wannabes--drunk on fireworks and the euphoria of anonymity--who embark on a road trip from hell to the promised land of St. Louis to make their mark on middle America.
The Perfect Pipe Bomb--a fusion of theatre and songwriting, old-time poetry and raw noise rock, virtuosic tradition and psychedelic experimentation, narrative and ecstatic performance--is the most ambitious performance attempted by any band in the DC area in many years.
Advanced Tickets $10 (Stars Price $9)
At the Door Tickets $12
