Nominated for two WAMMIE Awards this year,Be’la Dona is a brand new band with an unbelievably rich R&B sound. This powerhouse of seven female musicians who developed their talents at Howard University and Duke Ellington School of the Arts is guaranteed to have you on your feet!
NEW THIS YEAR!! The concert begin at 7PM, but the entertainment begins at 5:30PM with a Mini Street Festival. Check out mime Mark Jaster and and clowng expert Sabrina Mandell as they combine outrageous acrobatics and hyper-advanced communication skills with honest, gentle humor and playful interaction, obliterating many a skeptic’s antipathy toward mime. Experience the crafty clowning of Ambush Theater’s performance artists and you dare don’t miss your chance to interact with comedian-juggler Michael Rosman and chalk artists from Exit Studio.
PARKING: Parking for The Free Summer Outdoor Concerts and workshops is in the metro garage for $4.75 with Metro SmarTrip card. Parking for patrons with disabilities (with tag) and Strathmore Stars Parking (with Strathmore Summer Parking Pass) is in the Mansion lot on a space available basis, enter at 10701 Rockville Pike until 7PM.
SEATING: Please bring blankets or low beach chairs. No pets, please.
DINING: Back by popular demand! BBQ ribs, pulled pork, veggie burgers, hot dogs, side dishes, desserts, soda, water, beer and wine are available for purchase at the BBQ Shack. Join us a little early and enjoy dinner on the lawn before the show.
