Bang on a Can All-Stars: Bang on a Can Plays Steve Reich Presented by Strathmore Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 8:00 PM Music Center at Strathmore

The U.S. premiere of Steve Reich’s 2x5 is performed by Bang on a Can All-Stars. This creative, innovative, always surprising ensemble is a perfect fit for the works of Steve Reich, the composer The New York Times calls “the most original musical thinker of our time.” Reich was awarded the 2009 Pulitzer Prize Award for Music. His 2x5 is a pulsating rock quintet that perfectly captures the spirit of this adventurous ensemble. The Chicago Tribune calls the ensemble “a full-bore thrill ride of kinetic virtuosity.”
