"WORTH
THE DRIVE: If you missed the notice, the Mansion at Strathmore
throws the best reason to trek out of the district with its Friday
Night Eclectic showcase..." ~ The Washington Post Express
The Mansion at Strathmore
is your new first stop of the weekend with the all-new Friday Night
Eclectic series. Kick off your weekend with the best local live music
the metro area has to offer. Indie rock, hip-hip, electronica, salsa, go-go,
and funk blast through conventional ideas of art, lounge and life outside the
beltway.
Go-go band Mambo Sauce
exploded on the scene in 2007 with their songs "Miracles" and "Welcome
to DC" getting play on WPGC radio. "Welcome to DC" also cracked
the Billboard Hip-Hop Chart in January 2008. The band's music is a blend of go-go,
along with rap and alternative. They also feature a killer female drummer.
Visual artist Stephanie Potter (w/ interactive photo booth) and Jeff Everett of El Jefe Designs
will also be presenting their work.
