Celebrate the versatility of string and vocal music in this concert featuring Vivaldi’s sacred choral masterpiece, Gloria and Barber’s moving Adagio for Strings (also arranged for chorus, entitled Agnus Dei), heard in Oliver Stone’s Oscar-winning film Platoon. Soprano Audrey Elizabeth Luna is showcased in Andreas Makris’s Symphony for Soprano and Strings, a piece originally composed for the National Philharmonic that incorporates various love poems.
