
Ronnie Wells, who passed away March 2007 at the age of 64 after a battle with lung cancer, was a widely acclaimed jazz singer, professor, mentor, and founder of the East Coast Jazz Festival and Fish Middleton Jazz Scholarship Fund (FMJS) for emerging jazz artists and jazz education programs. This tribute concert will feature Friends of Ronnie Wells – people who have performed or recorded with Ms. Wells, or were featured at the East Coast Jazz Festival over the past 15 years. The evening will include great performances by great artists, including her husband Ron Elliston and her stepson Timo Elliston, Ron Kearns, Paul Carr, Phil Cunneff, Chris Grasso, Paul Wingo, Janine Gilbert Carter, Harold Mann, Bhagwan Khalsa, Cheryl Jones, Wes Biles, Grace Kelly, Kim Mills and 2006 FMJS Finalists. WPFW DJs Faunee Williams and Candy Shannon will MC the concert.
