CityDance Presents: Asanga Domask/SerendibDance
Asanga Domask, Founder and Artistic Director of SerendibDance, a fresh new company dedicated to preserving an ancient tradition, brings a daring collection of Sri Lankan traditional and folk dance to the Music Center at Strathmore Backyard Theater Series this summer. Enjoy Sri Lankan traditional dance, an art form built over thousands of years with deep roots in everyday village life, Buddhist religious customs, and ceremonial celebrations for the islandís royalty. Elaborate costumes, traditional music, and powerful yet elegant movements take viewers of all ages on a historic journey. Rhythm of Lanka is a concert not to be missed this summer!
Backyard Theater for Children Tickets
Tickets $8 (Stars Price $7.20) for ages 3 and up (buy online below) Tickets for the 9:30AM show are available at the door Thursday morning. Tickets for the 11:30 will be available up unitl 9AM online and also at the door.
Ages 2 and under are free, no tickets required

Parking: Parking for Backyard Theater is in the Mansion lot on a space-available basis. Enter the lot at 10701 Rockville Pike. Overflow parking is at the meters along Tuckerman Lane, or in the Metro garage. (Parking in the garage is $5.10 and a Metro SmarTrip or major credit card is required to pay the exit fare.)
Seating: The Backyard Theater stage is outdoors under a tent. Please bring blankets or low beach chairs Ė but no pets, please.
Dining: Bring a bag lunch and grab a patch of grass after the applause. Itís a great time for young critics to share their show reviews!
