BSO introduces Sayaka Shoji, the gifted Japanese violinist who has delighted audiences around the globe. Her first BSO at Strathmore appearance will feature one of the finest violin concertos ever written, Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2. The program will also showcase Prokofiev’s Love For Three Oranges Suite, and Strauss’ masterpiece, Ein Heldenleben.
Due to the death of close friend Andrei Petrov, Maestro Temirkanov deeply regrets that he is unable travel to Baltimore from his home in Russia, and has cancelled the first two of four concert engagements in March with the Baltimore Symphony. |
