Christon "Christylez" Bacon
(visual artist, emcee, producer, composer, musician)

Christylez Bacon (pronounced chris-styles) is a native Southeast Washingtonian and a living testament of groundbreaking hip-hop, self-expression, and pure artistry. Furthering his many forms of artistic expression since the age of 13, this hip-hop hybrid has featured at many venues commonly unassociated with Hip-Hop, including the Lincoln Theater, Carter Barren, Blues Alley, and the National Cathedral. Christylez is the subject of the 2005 Rosebud Film Festival award winning documentary, Blue Line: Destination Christylez.

As a musician, Christylez incorporates the elements of jazz guitar, the cultural sounds of the djembe drum, the organic percussion of the human beat-box, and spoons (yes ...spoons).

Currently, he is working on a full-length project called, Advanced Artistry and has finished a small body of work entitled, The Acoustic Project EP, consisting only of lyrics, human beatbox, and acoustic guitar. In addition to working on other projects simultaneously, Christylez makes a living as a creative writing teacher at several middle schools in D.C. Quoting Bomani Armah (producer/artist,) from a Washington Post article, "Chris is the future."
